Celebrating 45 Years of Coombe Caravan Park – and a New AA 5 Star Platinum Award!

It’s a very special year for everyone at Coombe Caravan Park! Not only are we celebrating 45 wonderful years of welcoming visitors to our beautiful corner of Wiltshire, but we’re also delighted to have been awarded the prestigious AA 5 Star Platinum Award for 2026/27!

It’s a fantastic achievement and one that means an enormous amount to us, particularly as we look back at how far Coombe has come since our parents, Brian and Margaret, first opened the site in 1981.

45 years of family history

When Coombe Caravan Park first opened its gates, it was little more than a plain field overlooking the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Over the years, through plenty of hard work, dedication and a real love of the outdoors, our family has transformed it into the beautifully landscaped, welcoming park that so many people know and love today.

Following the sad passing of our father, Brian, we – Richard and Lynda – are now carrying on the family tradition, looking after the park and continuing everything that our parents worked so hard to create.

Dad took enormous pride in Coombe, and we’re determined to maintain the same exceptionally high standards, attention to detail and personal service that have always made the park special.

For us, Coombe has never been just a business. It’s our family home and a place where we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming thousands of visitors over the years, many of whom return time and again. Seeing familiar faces, catching up with returning guests and welcoming new visitors is still one of the very best parts of running the park.

A Platinum Award for a very special place

Receiving the AA 5 Star Platinum Award is a wonderful way to mark our 45th anniversary and recognition of the care and hard work that goes into making Coombe such a special place to stay.

We’ve always believed that it’s the little things that make a big difference. From our beautifully maintained grounds and colourful flower displays to our spotless facilities, spacious pitches and friendly, personal service, we want every visitor to feel comfortable, relaxed and completely at home.

And, of course, there are those glorious views across the Wiltshire countryside!

Our love of gardening remains as strong as ever, with around 7,500 summer bedding plants and 3,500 spring bulbs bringing colour to the park throughout the seasons. Together with the hundreds of established trees and shrubs, they help create the peaceful, attractive surroundings that our guests enjoy so much.

The same warm welcome, now and always

While the years have brought plenty of changes, some things at Coombe will never change.

Whether you’re staying in one of our comfortable holiday homes, bringing your touring caravan or motorhome, or pitching a tent for a few nights under the stars, you can continue to expect the same wonderful facilities, excellent value for money and genuine family welcome.

Our well-maintained shower and toilet facilities, Camper’s Kitchen, on-site shop, freshly baked bread and cakes, and plenty of space for children to play are all part of what makes a stay at Coombe so enjoyable.

And, just as importantly, we’ll continue to take pride in making sure everything is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and ready for your arrival.

Thank you for 45 wonderful years!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Coombe Caravan Park over the past 45 years. To our wonderful guests, both old and new, and to everyone who has helped us along the way, your continued support means the world to us.

We’re incredibly proud of what our parents created, and we know Dad would have been delighted to see Coombe celebrating its 45th anniversary with such a prestigious award.

As we look forward to the years ahead, our promise is simple: the same beautiful surroundings, the same exceptional standards and, above all, the same warm, friendly welcome that Coombe Caravan Park has been known for since 1981.

Here’s to the next chapter, and to welcoming you back to Coombe very soon!

Coombe Caravan Park Awarded The AA 5 Pennant Rating

We are delighted to announce that our caravan park has been awarded the AA 5 Pennant Rating this month.

Caravan parks and campsites across the UK are regularly inspected and assessed on a number of factors including the quality of the facilities and the level of customer service visitors are given, and Coombe Caravan came out on top!

The very best facilities for our guests

The AA’s pennants system offers a rating between 1-5, with 5 being the highest level that can be awarded. It means that the park is of an ‘extremely high standard’ and offers beautiful surroundings and landscaping.

Our facilities and customer care are also deemed exceptional, with our toilet and washing facilities rated ‘first-class’.

Our on-site shop and camper’s kitchen were also taken into consideration when receiving the award, which isn’t surprising as we provide freshly baked bread and cakes on the premises. Please note that the bread and cakes are not made by ourselves.

Offering a unique experience

You won’t be hard pressed to find a caravan park in the UK, however Coombe Caravan offers a truly unique experience which we believe is reflected in the rating we were given.

Opened in 1981, the caravan park has seen thousands of guests come and go, many of whom enjoyed visiting the numerous local landmarks whilst appreciating the on-site landscape; with hundreds of trees and shrubs surrounding the fields to give added privacy, and over 7,500 bedding plants creating a thing of beauty that visitors to campsites don’t often encounter.

A positive impact on the local community

Receiving this prestigious award was only made possible by the efforts of our staff as well as the continued support and custom of our guests both local and international.

By supporting local businesses, you are directly responsible for creating a welcoming community that builds upon existing local links and allows us to remain in business; especially during these unpredictable times.

Just because we have been awarded 5 pennants doesn’t mean that we believe our work ends here. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our park remains in spotless condition, and that our visitors feel catered to and safe.

We have numerous holiday homes as well as pitches available to book with everything you need to guarantee you have a memorable holiday.
